  • 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3-4 whole cloves
  • Salt, to taste
  • Chopped fresh cilantro or parsley, for garnish (optional)


  1. Prepare Saffron Infusion:

    • In a small bowl, crush the saffron threads slightly with your fingers. Add warm milk to the saffron and let it steep while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Rinse and Soak Rice:

    • Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes. This helps the rice cook evenly and become fluffy.
