Birch Syrup

Birch Syrup has a complex flavour profile that provides a unique burst of flavour for culinary food preparation.  The taste is often described as spicy caramel with hints of molasses, balsamic, and soy.  We recommend Birch Syrup in stir-fries, salad dressing, baking, braising meats and vegetables.  Produced in Sault Ste. Marie, ON in the Algoma region.

Birch Syrup typically takes 100-115 gallons of sap to make just one gallon of syrup.  The process is much slower than making maple syrup and requires greater attention to factors such as the temperature used to boil the sap, and requires faster processing of sap due to the warmer temperatures in the late spring when birch syrup is produced.
